Need help Purchasing a Mattress

I need a new mattress.

any suggestions on brand? store? do's and donts? things to look for?

I only need the mattress or the mattress and box spring.  I only plan on using it for about 5 years or until I settle down.  dont want to pay to much, trying to stay at $400 or under if possible. any suggestion post up thanks.

there are always deals around mattress stores.   $400 should get you something chill.  nothing really good though.
