Los Angeles police are asking the public’s help in tracking down a driver who struck and killed a motorcyclist Monday in El Sereno and then fled the scene.
Federico Porras, 29, of Pico Rivera, was riding his motorcycle near North Marianna Avenue and Valley Boulevard when he was struck by the vehicle at 9:55 p.m., said Det. Jose De Leon of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The car was coming from the opposite direction and had crossed into Porras’ lane, De Leon said.
The vehicle was described as a black 2006 Nissan Versa C11X Hatchback.
Porras was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Anyone with information is asked to call De Leon or Det. Josephine Mapson at (213) 972-1845. After hours or on weekends, calls can be made to a 24-hour, toll-free number, (877) LAPD-24-7 (527-3247). Tipsters can also send a text message to CRIMES (274637) and begin the message with the letters LAPD.
